Answers for LEGAL QUESTIONS or WEDDING CEREMONY QUESTIONS WEDDING CEREMONY SECTION RESERVATIONS 1. Can we reserve the time and date for our wedding ceremony? Yes, you can, but we cannot guarantee it until you actually book it and we send you a confirmation. The earlier you book the better chance that you will have of getting all your wishes. While we can guarantee the date for your ceremony, you may have to compromise on the time of day within an hour or two for your ceremony, but once your time is confirmed, that time is guaranteed. FREE LIMOUSINE SERVICE 2. How does a limousine service in wedding package works? That would depend on the package and the Chapel of your choice. Generally, the chapel that provides the limousine service would pick you up from your hotel (hotels on the Strip or downtown). Then the limousine will take you to the Chapel for your wedding ceremony. After that, it would drive you back to your hotel or anywhere on the Strip or downtown. (Please see the table below)
3. How does the limo driver pick us up? Once you check in to your hotel room, we ask that you call the chapel (numbers will be provided via phone or email after you complete the reservation process) advising them of your hotel and room number, if your package includes a limo. This is so that the limousine driver can call you when he is in the lobby to collect you. 4. Since the limousine service is free, how much should I tip the limousine driver? Limousine drivers live on tips. Most people give about $30 - $35 to the limousine driver. MINISTER FEE 5. I see that the minister's fee is not included in the price of the package; how much is the minister's fee? Should I pay the minister's fee? For most people that use a package whose cost is below $500, or somewhere in that neighborhood, the expected amount is somewhere between $50 and $60. For packages that cost more than $500, it has become an expected practice to give 15% of whatever you spend on your wedding package, to the minister. PHOTO 6. What about taking a video and/or pictures of our own? You may not be able to take your own video/pictures during the ceremony, since the light from your flash may interfere with the in-house video taping system. Otherwise it is OK. GUEST 7. Is there a limit to the number of people that may attend the ceremony? If the wedding is held in the chapel then the number is limited only by the size of the chapel. ATTIRE 8. Will we all need to get dressed before we get there, or is there a place to change once we arrive? Most wedding chapels provide a place to dress, however most people prefer to arrive already dressed 9. Can you recommend a good and reasonable place to rent a gown and/or a tuxedo? Yes, please check out the Las Vegas Wedding Attire section of our website. LEGAL SECTION MARRIAGE LICENSE 1. When are we supposed to get marriage license? You must get your marriage license before the wedding ceremony. Some wedding packages provide limousine service from your hotel to the courthouse and then to the chapel. However, if you wait until an hour before the ceremony to get your license you may be cutting it a bit close. 2. What documents do we need? Any one of the following will do: State Drivers License, State ID Card, Military I.D., Original or certified copy of your birth certificate, or a Passport. 3. Can we bring our Marriage License from our home state? No. You must obtain your Marriage License in the state of Nevada if you are getting married here. 4. How do I get additional copies of our Marriage License? Call 702-455-4415, the cost is about two dollars. 5. Are there any fees? The marriage license fee is $55.00 (cash only). RENEW VOW / HAVE BEEN DIVORCED 6. How about if we are only renewing our vows? You don't need anything from file Clark County Court House unless you want to have a new license. A minister need not officiate your ceremony unless you are actually getting married. 7. If we have been divorced before, do we need to bring our Final Divorce Papers? No, all you need to know is the month, year, city and state of when the divorce was final. 8. How about if we have been divorced more than once? Do we need to know all of the dates? No, you only need to know the most recent. FROM FOREIGN COUNTRY 9. We are from out of the Country, what do we need to bring? In most cases, your passport will be fine, but some countries require additional paperwork for the marriage to be legal in that country. 10. Will it be legal in our Country? Yes, but you will need to get a certified copy of your Marriage License or an Apostil after your marriage has been recorded with the State. Both of these documents can be obtained from the Nevada Secretary of State. Please check with your local agency for exact details.
